Definition
Software as a Service (SaaS) is a model for delivering ready-to-use software as a service available over a network. The provider manages the application and its technical infrastructure, while the customer configures functions, users, and how data is used within the product’s boundaries. SaaS makes it easier to begin working without building the entire infrastructure, but the selection process must address integrations, data location and processing rules, exports, retention, availability, and service termination terms. Responsibility for identities, user roles, and correct configuration often remains shared. SaaS differs from software installed in the customer’s environment. Explore Astrafox’s approach to cloud.
