Definition
A prompt is an instruction provided to an AI model. It can include the task objective, business context, input data, rules, examples, and the required response format. A good prompt clearly states what the model should prepare, which information it is allowed to use, and what it should not do. In a production solution, a prompt is only one component: permissions, up-to-date knowledge, integrations, validation, and error handling are equally important. Refining the instructions alone does not eliminate the risk of an incorrect response.
