Disaster recovery is a prepared method for restoring systems and data after an incident that cannot be resolved through routine repair. The plan defines the order in which services are started, backup sources, dependencies, responsible people, communication methods, and criteria for returning to normal operation. The architecture can use a secondary region, infrastructure restored from code, or an application launched in another environment. A document alone is not enough—the procedure needs to be tested and updated after system changes. The solution’s scope and cost depend on the agreed RPO and RTO parameters.
