CI/CD is a set of practices and automations that support frequent, repeatable software delivery. CI, or continuous integration, checks code changes through builds, tests, and quality analysis. CD means continuous delivery or the deployment of a prepared release to successive environments. A pipeline creates a package, runs tests, scans dependencies, and deploys an application after defined conditions are met. Automation does not remove the need for control: production deployment can require approval, a rollback plan, and separate permissions. Well-designed CI/CD reduces differences between deployments and makes changes easier to audit. Explore Astrafox software.
